This policy explains what information GoLetsGo (the Android app and the website at goletsgo.app — "the service", "we") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. GoLetsGo helps people find and create meetups by category (cafes and bars, walks, board games, movies, sport, museums, and more) and lets venues publish their own events and discounts.
Who is responsible for your data
The controller of your personal data is Anatolii Tereshchenko, a private individual, Artvini Street 40, 4a, 0102 Tbilisi, Georgia. Contact: contact@goletsgo.app. See also our Legal Notice.
Information we collect
Account information. By default you can browse the app anonymously. If you create a permanent account, we store the email address or Google account you use to sign in.
Profile information. Name, age, gender, a short "about" description, your avatar and any photos you add to your gallery.
Location. Your device's GPS coordinates, used to show meetups near you and to place a meetup you create on the map. Location is only collected while you use the app.
Content you create. Meetups and events you post, your responses to other people's meetups, favourite places, and the messages and photos you send in chat.
Business information. If you register a venue account: business name, address, phone number, website, and branch locations.
Device and diagnostic information. A push-notification token (so we can deliver notifications to your device), and crash/diagnostic data used to find and fix bugs.
Reports and feedback. If you report another user or send us a bug report or suggestion, we store what you submitted.
Purchases. If you buy a subscription or additional branches, the payment is handled by Paddle (see below). We receive your subscription status, the email address used for the purchase, and order identifiers — never your full card details.
Usage statistics. Basic events such as signing in or creating a meetup, used to understand how the service is used and to improve it.
Advertising identifier (Android app). The free version of the Android app shows ads, which uses your device's advertising ID (see "Advertising" below).
How we use this information
- To operate core features — showing meetups on the map, letting you create and join them, and enabling chat.
- To deliver the notifications you've opted into (messages, responses, reminders, and similar).
- To keep the community safe — reviewing reports and, for reported photos, using automated image analysis (Google Cloud Vision's SafeSearch) to detect and remove content that violates our rules.
- To maintain, debug and improve the app.
- To send you news and updates about GoLetsGo by email — only if you've explicitly opted in (the toggle is off by default, independent of how you signed in). You can withdraw this consent at any time.
Legal bases (for users in the EU/EEA and UK)
- Performance of our contract with you — to provide the service you signed up for: your account, profile, meetups, chat, notifications and paid features.
- Consent — for access to your location (you can withdraw it in your device or browser settings), the email newsletter, and, where required by law, personalised advertising.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure and free from abuse (moderation, fraud and bot protection), to fix bugs and to understand how the service is used.
- Legal obligations — for example, keeping purchase records.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your information. Some information is inherently shared as part of using the app — for example, your profile and meetups are visible to other users, and messages you send are visible to the person you're chatting with. We also share information with the service providers listed below, only as needed to run the app.
Third-party services we use
GoLetsGo is built on Google Firebase and related Google Cloud services: Authentication, Firestore (database), Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging (push notifications), Crashlytics (crash reports), and App Check (verifies requests come from the real app). We also use Google Maps Platform for maps and address search, Google Sign-In, and Google Cloud Vision for automated photo moderation. We use Google Analytics for Firebase for usage statistics. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments — see Google's Privacy Policy.
Payments — Paddle. Purchases are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as the Merchant of Record: Paddle collects your payment and billing details directly and is responsible for them — see Paddle's Privacy Policy.
Advertising — Google AdMob (Android app). AdMob uses your device's advertising ID and information about your device and app usage to show and measure ads, and may show personalised ads. In the EU/EEA and UK, before any ads are requested we ask for your consent through Google's consent form, and you can change your choice at any time in the app (Profile → Ad privacy settings). You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads). Buying the subscription removes ads. See how Google uses data for advertising.
Website only. On goletsgo.app we additionally use Sentry to receive error reports (technical details of the error, browser and device type — no name or account details; from your connection Sentry may determine your approximate location, such as the city) and Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise to protect the service from bots — reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms. The website stores some data in your browser (local storage), such as your sign-in session, language, theme and the city you picked, so you don't have to set them again. reCAPTCHA also sets its own security cookie, used only to tell people from bots. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies on the website.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where this involves data from the EU/EEA or UK, the transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Data storage and retention
GoLetsGo is "local-first": your data is stored on your device first, and synced to our servers in the background so it's available if you switch devices or sign back in. We keep your data until you delete your account, or as required by law.
When you delete your account, it is frozen for 30 days so you can restore it, and then permanently deleted (see how to delete your account). Messages you've sent stay visible to the person you were chatting with until they delete that conversation too. Deleted data may remain in our backups for up to 7 days before being overwritten.
Your choices
- You can turn individual notification types on or off in the app's Notifications settings.
- You can block or report another user directly from a chat or profile.
- Signing out clears the copy of your data stored on your device (your account data on our servers is not affected).
- You can delete your account and its data yourself, any time, from the app (Profile → Delete account) — see how to delete your account for full details, including what happens to your data and how to request deletion if you no longer have the app installed.
- You can turn the email newsletter on or off any time in the app's Profile screen, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (in particular in the EU/EEA and UK), you have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you gave at any time (this doesn't affect processing before the withdrawal). To use these rights, email contact@goletsgo.app. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the country where you live.
Children's privacy
GoLetsGo is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. See our Child Safety Standards for our policy on child sexual abuse and exploitation and how to report a concern.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access-controlled server rules that restrict who can read or write your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
